“Definitely 5 Stars for "The Purple Pitch Seduction of America!” exclaimed author, Julia Gousseva

This is a unique, engaging, important and incredibly entertaining collection. In a humorous, sarcastic and straightforward, non-nonsense approach, Paula Rose Michelson tells it like it is. She doesn’t leave any stones unturned when she points out the problems the United States is facing and ways to resolve them.

Here’s what I see as the main point of this entire collection, and I quote:

“America is fighting a battle today. If we are to stay the course set by our founders, the course people fought, bled and died for, we must reclaim the vision they had, for to do otherwise is to turn our backs on an inheritance that once gone cannot be restored.”

And if you’re reading it and don’t feel like getting involved, the author asks you to think of the reasons and conveniently provides some possibilities, “You’re disengaged because 1) It’s not your gig, 2) You don’t give a fig, or 3) You’d rather sing ‘Let it Be’.” I found this line entertaining and true.

I’ve always wondered about newspapers and other media putting the most boring stories at the top of the broadcast or on the front page, and here’s what Paula Rose Michelson has to say about it, “When the article is about celebrity wannabes who have done nothing to become recognizable to anyone but those too bored to change the channel, and the reporter is bent on putting them down while elevating others more sleazy than them, we have entered the Twilight Zone, creepy music and all!... and ‘We, The American People’, have no idea if we’re looking at the Twilight Zone, or living in one!”

Paula Rose Michelson talks about many issues in this book, from new light bulbs to education to budget to the national debt and beyond, trying to get the readers involved in solving problems lest we end up in an “abysmal reality that is created when people stop becoming the masters of their fate for the promises made by those who will be in office for a short time to store up theirs, and leave you in the lurch.”

So, what’s the solution? Who should we trust? Next election, I’m voting for "P" Bear who lives in the 99 plus one acre wood. Why? "Because he’s the man of action," says Paula Rose Michelson, and I agree! Here’s another quote about the way that bear dealt with problems: “He pointed to his head where he somehow knew his thinker was and he told himself, to think…He didn’t wait to see what the polls said, or hire himself out as a neighborhood organizer so he could learn how to win. In fact, this sweetie-pie didn’t care about winning, he cared about the other residents that lived in the Wood, and tried to be a good friend to them. Sometimes he succeeded and sometimes he failed, but whether he succeeded or failed, he was always true to himself. Because of that, even though he’s not real, he is a character of such heroic proportions that if I could make it happen, he’d be real, for we need role models like him indeed!”

About Paula Rose Michelson
Paula Rose Michelson began her writing career at the age of fifteen when this reluctant teen was told by her mother that she would be writing a weekly ‘Teen Scene’ column for a local San Diego paper. Thinking it a joke, Paula soon discovered that her mother was serious when she found herself making phone calls and researching events she did not attend so she could write about them. The difficulties of being edited by a mom, who was trying to show her that she could write, made this task stressful. Weekly, when asked if she’d like to read her Friday column, the teenager shook her head and from that day to this wonders if she made it all up. Yet years later, when lauded as a writer of merit for writing about choices, their consequences, and her passion for becoming that’s found within each book and is the one word that defines her, Paula was heard to say, “Where would any of us be if it weren’t for choices made and lessons learned?”

Known by those in recovery as the author of the LAMB Ministry 7X7 Recovery books, and by fiction lovers as the author of sweet Christian romance with a Messianic twist and a hint of history, her Naomi Chronicles are a continuation of Naomi’s faith journey which readers fall in love with when they read Books 1 & 2 of the ‘Casa de Naomi: The House of Blessing’ Saga.

A Messianic Jew, the wife of Chosen People Ministries Field Missionary, and Lutheran Pastor, Ron Michelson, and one who writes to fulfill the Great Commission, Paula has seen God change lives when people believe in and call upon Him. This mother of two married daughters, Paula is the grandmother of seven.
